I like this scrub, it smells good and leaves the skin feeling very soft.
Change this recipe to what you have on hand, if you don’t have any of these ingredients.
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1/4 cup olive oil or coconut oil
- 2-3 tablespoons oatmeal (try to ground the oatmeal so it doesn’t clog up your drain)
- 1-2 tablespoons honey
Mix the dry ingredients first, then add the olive oil and honey. You can change the amount of liquid you use, to make it a rougher or smoother scrub.
This is the perfect recipe to put in a mold, throw in the fridge and take out when you want to use a bar of soap. The honey solidifies in the fridge and works perfectly as a DIY soap bar. I would recommend using small molds, so you can just use a little at a time. But it can work as well if you just leave it in container; scoop out as much as you want and form the scrub into a bar for your shower. That way you don’t use too much and it’s a little easier to work with than some of the runnier scrubs.
You can also leave out of the fridge, and should keep for a couple weeks. Mine usually last a week or two, because by then I’ve run out!
Change the ingredients however you want, this recipe is just a guideline and a suggestion of what you can use.
