Seasoned Rice

I really like eating rice but my habit of putting soy sauce on it, is getting a little boring. So I thought I would try my hand at making my own seasoned rice! It’s definitely not fancy – just whatever I had in the cupboard. But it turned out pretty good for no recipe to go off of.

Seasoned Rice
1 cup long grain rice
2 cups water
1-2 tsp. chili powder
1-2 tsp. italian seasoning
1-2 tsp. garlic powder
a little olive oil, to your liking
pepper, however much you want – I added it to the beginning with the other dry ingredients

Mix the water with the dry ingredients (you can use more or less, to your taste), including the rice, in a pan over high heat. Boil for about 30 seconds – 1 minute, turn heat to low and simmer for about 15-18 minutes. Mix the olive oil at the end (and I used a little more of the dry seasonings) to coat the rice. I also added broccoli at the end, it came out pretty good!
